Ian graduated from Southwestern University in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Feminist Studies. As an undergraduate, he studied behavioral neuroendocrinology under the direction of Dr. Fay Guarraci. During his time working with Dr. Guarraci, Ian ran studies examining how substances influence sexual behavior and neuroendocrine function in animal models (rats). Ian is especially proud of a study that examined the effects of leuprolide, a common puberty blocker used in gender affirming care, on sexual behavior and development in adolescents. Additionally, Ian had the opportunity to study abroad in Amsterdam where he studied human sexuality and culture. After graduating, Ian continued his education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake where he earned his M.A. in Clinical Psychology. During his time at UHCL he researched how generative AI responds to women experiencing female orgasmic disorder, under the supervision of Dr. Sean Lauderdale. Ian has also completed a clinical internship at The Women’s Home and has lectured on the treatment and diagnosis of sexual dysfunction.

In the fall of 2026, Ian joined the WISH lab and the Clinical Psychology Training Program as a doctoral student. He is interested in continuing to study behavioral neuroendocrinology and how the field of sex research can expand our understanding of the neuroendocrine underpinnings of sex. Beyond expanding the field of sex research, Ian is interested in research that advocates for reproductive justice and the continued application of intersectionality.

Outside of research, Ian enjoys spending time with his cat, kayaking, attending concerts/music festivals, and interior design.
