Sophie is a visiting graduate student from Berlin, Germany, originally from Hamburg, Germany. She graduated with her medical degree from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in 2022 and immediately entered Charité’s PhD program, where she focuses on sexual psychophysiology. During medical school, Sophie dedicated time to volunteering in a sex education program, sparking her interest in the intersections between sexual knowledge, wellbeing, and psychological health in women. Her primary PhD research explores how physiological factors, such as blood flow and inflammatory responses, interact with psychological factors in women’s sexual health and wellbeing. She is currently conducting research in Lincoln as part of a six-month stay with the WISH Lab, with plans to continue her collaboration remotely.
Outside the lab, Sophie is an entrepreneur, enjoys hiking, photography & interior design, cooking vegetarian dishes, and exploring new places through traveling.
